Hot-cross buns!
Hot-cross buns!
One a penny, two a penny,
Hot-cross buns!
If you have no daughters,
Give them to your sons;
One a penny, two a penny,
Hot-cross buns!

Happy Easter everyone! It’s Good Friday here in the UK, which means just one thing in my house – hot-cross buns! It’s always a baking day for me, and the series 17 gourmet chef arrived just in time to help whip up a batch of buns for us to enjoy!

For a professional, she’s a pretty messy baker. Flour took over the whole kitchen (along with the heavenly smell of oranges and mixed spice!)

Dough was kneaded, risen, and knocked back before being put into the oven for our tea!

I really wanted this figure because I love to bake and I really liked the whisk!
I just need to get her some more kitchen accessories now.
Perhaps a nice serving tray?

She stood up to my kitchen well.
Even covered in egg, flour and dough she still photographs wonderfully.
With her smirk and her crooked hat, she really was a pleasure to shoot.

She does also come with a tasty looking strawberry tart if you aren’t in the mood to cook tiny treats, although some issues with the printing on mine make it look at little sad up-close.
Hopefully, this doesn’t affect all of them!
Overall, she’s a wonderful addition to my minifigure collection, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series!
Bring on 1 May!

P.S. If you want to try out this deliciousness (any time of the year!) this is the recipe.
Loving the images of your new co-worker, Lizzi! And those mini-buns…lovely details all over. Now I want two things:
The gourmet chef (with that whisk!)- and some hot buns (wise act to share the recipe as well)!
Thanks! We finally finished the buns last night! Now to wait another year to do it all over again! But I really suggest giving them a go! So yummy!
Haha she’s so funny when playing in flour! Well done!
Thanks! Kitchen mess is always fun!
I feel some cooking coming up in The Studio soon.
Looks delicious, and I could not detect anything wrong on the other strawberry pie I have laying here. It really must have been a travel incident.
Must just be mine then! Maybe I’ll break out the model paints (or just photoshop, which might be simpler!)
