Week 46 – Edith Piaf

One of my favorite things about not living in a French-speaking country anymore is that I don’t have to put up with French music on a daily basis. I truly dislike (or should I even say despise?) most music sung in French. There are a few exceptions though. French punk. French and Breton folk music. And Edith Piaf.

Edith Piaf is one of the most famous French singers from the mid-20th century. This is due to her incredible voice. I’ve always been stunned by how powerful, unique and so hard to imitate her voice was.

Everything is Awesome

This blog post is part of a series about the new LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures Series. Thanks to the folks from LEGO for providing us a box of Minifigures that we sent to 9 creative toy photographers to review for the blog.

Even before seeing the first pictures of the LEGO Movie 2 new Collectible Minifigures Series, we knew we would have a box to review. When I saw the first pictures of the minifigures, even though I wanted to get most of them, I didn’t have any specific idea for photos.

When we finally got our box, I decided to go with the four “Everything is Awesome” singers. I just had got one of the new LEGO Friends set for a photo of #SiPgoes53 and it was the perfect opportunity to use the main build of the set.

So like with the Harry Potter Series, my review would again feature a band…

Week 4 – Marilyn Monroe

From last week´s natural scientist and great observer Charles Darwin to this week´s person for our challenge, it may seem a long way- yet it´s just a week. Let´s put our hands together for an actress, a singer, a model and a film producer.

Welcome Norma Jeane

Human being of the week for #SiPgoes53 was born as Norma Jeane Mortensen in 1962. Many will know her baptismal name, Baker, better. And probably everyone will know her as Marilyn Monroe.

We are all in the same boat …

While Shelly keeps us updated with great pieces of literature we should all consume in order to grow our artistic self, I try to keep an eye on what is happening in the online world of TED and share some of it with all of you when I believe it connects with what we are trying to explore here.

When I enjoyed the latest TED collection I was blown away with this simple story told by a small boy from the ship yard and how his dream and determination changed his live forever.

A story that truly touched me …

” … The fact is, whether you’re a rock staror whether you’re a welder in a shipyard,or a tribesman in the upper Amazon,or the queen of England,at the end of the day,we’re all in the same boat …”

Let us know below in the comments what you think about it and if we are indeed all in the same boat.
